Access to quality data.

Before you can analyse data, you have to find it, know where it comes from and be able to use it. It is the step everyone takes for granted, and the one everything else rests on.

The problem

Official data exists, but reaching it takes work

Public statistics are plentiful and reliable, but scattered across tables with different codes, formats and classifications. The same indicator changes from one release to the next, and a number copied without its source or version can no longer be checked or cited.

Today many questions go through an AI assistant, which answers with numbers whose origin is often unknown. The access problem becomes a trust problem too.

What we mean by quality

Four conditions, all at once

i.

Official

Published by whoever produces it. We don't say a number is true: we say where it comes from.

ii.

Declared

Every value carries its source, licence, version and the quality notes of its publisher.

iii.

Standardised

The same territorial classifications and the same units, so data can be compared and connected.

iv.

Reachable

At hand, from a map or a question, without needing to know a table code.

The solution

Mapem

Official data, one question away.

Mapem makes official statistical data easy for anyone to use, directly or through their own AI assistant, with source and method always stated.

It currently serves European statistics from Eurostat, from national level (NUTS 0) down to small regions (NUTS 3). The numbers are Eurostat's, and Mapem says so on every value.

Web map

Regions and indicators on a map, with analysis tools to compare them.

MCP server

Connects to your AI assistant: answers come with official figures and their provenance.

Every value carries

  • its source
  • its licence
  • its version
