About us

People passionate about data, from every angle.

We care about the whole journey of a piece of data, from those who produce it to those who use it. We build solutions that support data analysis and processing, starting from simple, reliable access to official data.

The name

A desk lamp

DataLamp is the light that makes data readable: a desk lamp shining on three bars, like a small chart. It adds nothing to the numbers; it simply lets you see them clearly.

It is also the tone we want: warm, precise, at home on a desk. A working tool, not a show.

The DataLamp mark: a desk lamp shining on three bars

How we work

Three rules that don't change from one solution to the next

i.

Always the source

Every number carries who produced it, under which licence and in which version. If a figure isn't there, we say so instead of deriving it.

ii.

Official, not certified

We don't say a number is true: we say where it comes from. We report data as its producers publish it, and we cite them.

iii.

Built for AI too

More and more questions go through an AI assistant. We give it data it can cite, with its provenance intact.

Where we're going

The vision belongs to the company, the mission to each solution

DataLamp sets the direction; each solution has its own task. Mapem, the first, is the standardised access point to official data.

Vision · DataLamp

As opinions and decisions are increasingly shaped by numbers without a source, amid disinformation and AI answers that no one can check, we are building a fixed point: official data, verifiable at the source, for every person and for their AI assistant.

Mission · Mapem

Mapem makes official statistical data easy for anyone to use, directly or through their own AI assistant, with source and method always stated.
